We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HR professional to take over and build out our human resources department. The role will report to the CEO and Managing Director, and work with various members of the leadership team. Genesis is growing quickly, and this role will help to scale the company from post-startup to the next level!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, processes, initiatives, and surveys to support our human resource compliance and strategy needs
  • Build and manage a team of 2-4 people globally
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Stay up on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes and apply this knowledge to create change and communicate those changes to the team
  • Liaise with head of operations on hiring forecast, with an eye on departmental budgets and timelines
  • Liaise with legal and compliance teams to ensure that laws and regulations are rigorously followed
  • Liaise with outside counsel on employment law and immigration matters
  • Identify staffing needs and oversee recruiting efforts – the company is rapidly growing, so this may entail hiring a recruiter for your team or forming exclusive relationships with recruitment firms; this will also entail helping the team to be at the top of their interview game
  • Create training and ongoing development programs to help managers (and especially new managers) to oversee their teams
  • Oversee the annual review process as well as ongoing performance management
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding of employees (creating contracts, managing visas for foreign hires, overseeing security and background checks, equipment, etc.)
  • Partner with our US PEO, TriNet, and our UK PEO, ADP, to manage payroll and provide onsite benefits support for the team
  • Manage expanding international team, to entail finding the right international vendors to partner with
  • Be easily accessible for any employee questions or concerns
  • Support the overall health and wellness of the organization


  • 8+ years of in a similar level role – experience in fintech, crypto, blockchain, or startups a plus
  • Demonstrable experience implementing process and procedures, and scaling these from ad hoc startup level
  • Proven track record of sourcing, recruiting and closing talent, preferably within a fast-growing startup
  • Trusted advisor who can use discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems before they arise
  • Experience managing teams in a highly regulated industry
